Why PayPal PRO is a GREAT option for selling overseas...


PayPal is the ONLY payment gateway that we know of that allows your cart to checkout in multiple currencies within the same account.

Our system uses geolocation to choose the correct currency for your shop clients, and if you choose PayPal PRO the entire checkout process will be in the visitors currency (ie. the emails, invoices, checkout process etc.). PayPal PRO is a professional payment gateway that allows your shoppers to enter their credit card details on a secure form at your site - but the money appears in your PayPal control panel. They do not need to have a PayPal account.

If you were to choose a different payment gateway (such as WorldPay, HSBC or PROTX), then your payments MUST be taken in one currency (usually GBP - pounds sterling). The means that our system will apply that days exchange rate on the transaction and charge them in GBP - even if they shopped in Euros. This could mean that the invoice they get is for 109.99 euros (for instance) but their card could be charged 110.58 (example) due to the weighted exchange rate conversion that differs between all your customers credit cards. This CAN cause more admin - as people ask why they have been charged extra. Occasionally it works out in FAVOUR of the customer and they are charged LESS than the invoice amount, but can still cause unwanted administrative work in answering emails. If you want to sell overseas we highly recommend PayPal PRO.
